The book, A Walk Down Walnut, by local authors, Billy Warren and Dr. Tom Ott, and photographer, Jimmy Hill, has recently been reprinted.As the book’s title suggests, it takes the reader up and down Walnut Street Historic District in Florence, with “before” and “after” photographs – along with a brief history – of each of the 29 houses. Dr. Ott’s well-written introduction places the history of the street in the larger context of the region and nation during the 50 years in which the 29 houses were constructed.
