“Tuck Everlasting” Meet The Cast Series

Throughout the next few weeks The Shoals Community Theatre will be showcasing the actors and team members who bring “Tuck Everlasting” to life onstage. Next on our list is the talented Leesa Barber who portrays the role of Mother in “Tuck Everlasting”!

Leesa is excited to be playing the role of Mother. Some of her favorite roles have been Annie in “Annie”, Maria in “The Sound of Music”, Antonia in “Man of La Mancha”, Patty Simcox in “Grease”, Rachel Lynde in “Anne of Green Gables”, Gertrude McFuzz in “Seussical the Musical” and Suzy in “Wait Until Dark.” This role has been meaningful because Leesa has been able to pull from different seasons of her own life to help develop the character of Mother. She knows well the fear of all the “what ifs” in wanting to protect her children. She also lost her dad when she was 16 so she was able to revisit that grief in relating to the loss of a family member. Come experience this beautiful story that is really thought-provoking with heavy themes but also has some great comic relief.

What would you do if you had all eternity? Eleven-year-old Winnie Foster yearns for a life of adventure beyond her white picket fence, but not until she becomes unexpectedly entwined with the Tuck Family does she get more than she could have imagined. When Winnie learns of the magic behind the Tuck’s unending youth, she must fight to protect their secret from those who would do anything for a chance at eternal life. As her adventure unfolds, Winnie faces an extraordinary choice: return to her life, or continue with the Tucks on their infinite journey.
